Doctor Strange into the Multiverse of Madness (2022)

If I said it once, I said
it a thousand times, the Marvel Universe without Stan Lee is nothing to write
home about. If only people don’t die. No Way Home was still manageable because
of the 3 Peter’s, but I should have known they were losing their way. At least
the titles are correct. They are lost so they have no way home and now they’ve
found themselves in the multiverse of madness, whoever the writer is. And
before they started trekking, they must have drunk all these Russian alcohols,
because they are wandering like lost sheep.
Actually, the movie may
not have felt that bad if I wasn’t expecting a superhero movie.
If you want to watch a
superhero movie, this is not the one for you. You will like Eran Iya Osogbo or
Awon Iya Meta. It is almost the same, a witch causing problems and killing
people, bringing demons around and a couple of people running around trying to
stop her and rescue the person who made her angry. The only thing missing is
Odunlade Adekola.
Story line: Scarlet Witch
wants children, she found out that in another universe, she has 2 children. So,
she wants to go there to get them. She’s even the main character, Dr. Strange
is merely 2nd lead. It should have been titled Scarlet Witch vs. The
Multiverse of Madness. Nothing remotely heroic or inspirational, just a lot of
murder, witchcraft and incomprehensible gore.
Then. There’s this girl
America who has powers to go to other universes but doesn’t know how to use her
powers at will. Scarlet Witch wants to take her powers, get rid of the other
mother and take care of the children as hers. She killed a lot of people - gruesomely,
Dr. Strange had to possess his rotting corpse from another world to defeat her.
I was just hissing and saying TLSPKPK, wawoo and lasan ko.
The only thing avenger
about the movie were the names Dr. Strange and Scarlet Witch, everything else
was just woke futuristic Juju, Patience Ozokwor style. They wanted to make a
movie for Dr. Strange and couldn’t create their own brand-new villain, so they
decided to remix Scarlet Witch.
You can watch it if you like watching horror movies at sleepovers, you know, like The Nun and Annabelle. The acting was on point though.
P.S. I wrote this review before googling and finding out Rotten Tomatoes already said this would be Marvel's first horror movie. It had better be their last as well. π
P.S.S. The costumes were on point though. I might just cosplay Scarlet Witch one day.
