Chief Daddy 2: Going for Broke (2022).

Well, I can say – I did not esperred it. What is this movie? I’ll tell you what it is – A flamboyant, Broda Shaggi sprinkled, Falz’s music advertising joke. You know, the closing credit should have been accompanied by “We Are Family” as sung by Sexual Chocolate in Coming 2 America. The acting was great though. You would know these guys were all veterans, but that storyline was a mess. I don’t even know where to start from.🤷🤷 The Beecroft family is broke (and I guess the producers were as well – the movie looked so cheap, they spent the barest minimum making it - no offense), and Lady Kay can’t celebrate her birthday in style. Big Money Famzy has been chased out of the studio, The therapist is now doing YouTube vlogs about her own family, Tinu and her sister are chasing the same man (and he is not that fine) while their boutique with the therapist’s mum (the therapist is one of their half-siblings) is not making sales. The footballer son has a racist P.A. with an attitude ...

Mood of the Day (2016) - Movie Review

Hello! Day 2! How are you doing? Finally, a Korean movie.👀 The lady in this one was the wife in Flower of Evil, while the guy was the lead doctor from Romantic Doctor 1. He was a pervert there too. The girl is in a 10-year relationship with a clot pole (get the Merlin reference?), her friend is getting married to her high school boyfriend after dating him for just 3 months, she is a boss at an advertising agency and her secretary is the ghostess from Oh My Ghostess. She used to be a pious woman until she met the male lead. He corrupted her within one day. Moral lesson: Avoid womanizers. The guy is a womanizer who will probably get AIDs last last, if he doesn’t change his ways. He is also a top basketball scout/agent whose charge has run away and he has to go all over Korea to find him. They spend the day (and night) together and say goodbye, she decides to break up with her fiancée of many years. The girl then had lunch with her friends and badmouthed the guy (even thoug...

Father of the Bride (2022)

I know, I promised Korean stuff. And here I am with 2 non-kdrama stuff. I'm sorry😭. I still love you tho.  Well, once I saw Isabela Merced in the cast, I knew I was going to watch it. I'm supporting my baby all the way, fellas. Note: She wasn’t the bride. She was the bride’s younger sister and a fashion designer.  I don’t know much about Cubans or Mexicans and I didn’t feel some parts of the movie were practicable if they had been Nigerians, so I’ll give it a 7 out of 10. (Edit: Now that I think about it 6.5 out of 10). The movie felt very American to me. I couldn’t connect to it and I was like yikes! Most of the time. It’s an okay movie though, if you like that kinda story. Couple going through problems in their marriage but still in love? Sometimes it felt like just the father was in love and I kept rolling my eyes at the mother. They are upper middle-class immigrants, with one perfect NYU Law grad daughter and one college dropout fashion designer daughter. The ...

Rise (2022)

This is one of the most inspiring movies of the century. Seriously, I love Disney but I didn’t know Disney still made movies like this. It’s the story of the Adetokunbo (Antetokoumnpo) family, from Charles and Veronica a.k.a. Vera (the parents), to Francis, Thanasis, Giannis, Kostas and Alex. Originally from Nigeria, they moved to Greece for a better life, passing through Turkey. They couldn’t get resident status because they didn’t have passports and were illegal immigrants, even though all the children apart from Francis (left behind in Nigeria) were born in Greece. Charles worked odd jobs and the rest of the family sold stuff to tourists. And ran from the Europe police on their off time. The father used to be a football player in Nigeria so he taught them to play ball but Thanasis and Giannis fell in love with Basketball in 2007 and there was no looking back. They trained hard to have a chance to be drafted for teams but most teams wouldn’t touch them with a 10-foot-lo...
